Peppermint is antispasmodic, antiseptic, anaesthetic, astringent, analgesic and diaphoretic. It’s considered a tonic, decongestant, stimulant, stomachic and antiemetic.

Common medicinal use include: relieves nausea and motion sickness, helps IBS symptoms, aids in relieving hangovers, decrease flatulence, calms, restores and lends clarity, relieves toothaches and headaches, clears throat, boosts energy.

Spearmint not only comes in delicious leaf shaped candy, but the plant itself has been used medicinally for relieving nausea, calming hyperactivity, lessening anxiety, energising and stimulating.

Hyssop leaves are used as an aromatic condiment. A lightly bitter taste due to its tannins, and an intense minty aroma. It is a soothing, expectorant, cough suppressant, and also improves circulation and can stimulate the gastrointestinal system.

Aside from being incredibly beautiful and fragrant, lavender has many valuable health benefits. The purple flower is antiseptic, antispasmodic and antibacterial. It is also a relaxant and nerve tonic. This well known and easily identifiable herb is native to the western Mediterranean. Common medicinal uses include: remedy for tension headaches, calming, to treat insomnia, relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

Directions: Place a heaped teaspoon of tea per cup (250ml) into a teapot, tea bottle or infuser and brew for 3-5 minutes.
